Usually in unix you specify a loghost in the /etc/hosts file to specify where messages generated by syslogd go, but I don't know how you would do this with Netinfo.

I've only ever had it grind to a halt (beach ball of death) usually when trying to view idisk folders via the finder. I've since found that the terminal is a much nicer way to do this.
