This is really strange, but now Flash works just fine without restarting or anything. Oh well, thats what betas do. Heres a better screenshot from a sidescrolling game I'm working on:

What do you know about Flash 6?

Figured out why it was quitting on me: When not connected to the internet it says: "Macromedia Flash MX Beta is unable to connect to the Macromedia Serialization Server. This version of the software will only operate while connected to the internet. This application will now discontinue...

What do you know about Flash 6?

I got flash 6 from Characho (hey I bought flash! nothin wrong with a little beta right?) Anyway, its pretty good. Launches fast and the flash player is actually faster in OSX than the flash 5 player was in OS9! Unfortunantly it is still very buggy. For some reason it unexpectadly quits when...

A wierd little operation in OS X

Weird! On my 667mhz Tibook it relaunches the entire system! I even have the exact same OSX build number as you! We must be doing something differen't or else something very odd is going on.

A wierd little operation in OS X

Dear god...Apple really should fix that. Just a warning to anybody. Yes that does work, and not only does it relanch the finder, but you'll lose any other applications that are open. I didn't lose anything except that I was disconnected from AIM (I'm not that big of an idiot)

    OSX feature...

I don't know if anyone has discovered this but I just did it by accident. If you hold the apple key and click an object in the menu bar (like the clock, battery meter, volume, moniter res, ect) you can move them around or even poof them away life an icon from the dock. Just thought it was neat.

    That stupid 'nice' hack

Yeah, I think I was high or something when I did that hack. I had done it before actually using the command line on my other computer without any weird side effects. Anyway, restarting did work. I think I started the thread before I realized how easy it was to fix. Also, AOL instant...

    That stupid 'nice' hack

I used a program that changed the 'nice' of the finder and dock, giving them higer priority. Now internet explorer can barely scroll, and when I move around the windows of a few programs like iTunes, they don't cling to the mouse the way they used to. Does anyone know how to set this to default?

Off Macworld but...Using mac as server question.

I managed to find a FREE DNS service :) Right now I have it pretty slopilly set up so the address is a tad long but here it is. I'm currently trying to figure out how to get it to work without the holmesf thing then I might just pay for photoexpression.com with them which would be a ONE...

Off Macworld but...Using mac as server question.

I'm trying to get a webpage up using the built in apache server that comes with OSX. I've got most everything ironed out so the webpage works and all, except that my address changes everytime I restart my computer. I'm using PacBell DSL. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on an address...

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

On my 2.2 Megapixel Kodak most of my photos are about 500k. If I were to edit them in photoshop they are larger, around a megabyte. That doesn't seem like you'd have to wait too long for them to upload but could be borderline annoying if you've got a lot and 56k.

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

Well I'll be damned, it DOES work to launch photoshop on double click. I think it was opening a 50MB Adobe file before and I wasn't being patient enough or something. Well I'm glad that works, that certianly makes life easier.

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

Yah it seems like that should work SimX but for some reason it'll just launch photoshop and not open the file. I'm not sure why. Does this work on anyone elses system?

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

Yeah El Diablo, that's why I don't like it. It copies everything and if your trying to find the files using anything other than iPhoto its a mess. Inisde my pictures folder is iPhoto library, followed by folders with the year, folders with the month, folders, with the day, and the photos...

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

Sort of...Click the album you want, press share, and then press homepage. It'll go onto the web under your iTools acount. It won't have the music or the OpenGL effects though.

Does anyone else NOT like iPhoto?

The way iPhoto organizes all the files in the program itself is fine, but I totally hate the way it organizes the files on the hard drive. This is fine if you just browse your photo using that program alone but its horrible for trying to find the files later in photoshop. Folder within folder...

And after Civ II, why not port Unreal Tournament? I was so disapointed when I heard ID wasn't porting return to wolfenstien to the iPod that I nearly left the mac platform entirely. jk :p

I want Tetris on the iPod!

I think I heard that they did put it in the ROM, but really I'm totally unclear about how breakout is executed at all. Does anybody have that info? Maybe in the future Apple will update the ROM to allow it to execute programs.
