I had the same problem with 10.4.0 and 10.4.1... Eventually I just copied WMP over from another computer and it worked OK... I thought I was going mad! I've never had a problem with .bins before... :(

Apple - two words to consider: "Home Automation"

It is frustrating, isn't it?! ;) I do remember reading speculation that there might be a new video Airport Express - allowing the Mac Mini to stream movies as well as music... We shall see!

To get dual 20" cinema's or not...

I had a couple of the old style monitors (one 22" and one 23") - they worked beautifully together... I've got them in Dubai at the moment, and I'm using one of the new 23" HD displays over here in Thailand. I'm definitely getting another one to go with it - I really miss the extra screen...

    Memory beyond 1 GB

I'm pretty sure that the Ti PowerBooks only supported up to 1GB RAM. The Al PowerBooks definitely take 2GB - that's what I've got in mine. I swear my systems feel zippier with my RAM!!! :)

    Duplicate emails in Mail 2.0

Unfortunately, there's no option to do this on the "Sent" mailbox; only on incoming mailboxes and smart mailboxes... Otherwise, I'd try! :)

    Notes from the Xserve Files

Tom Great blog! I'll be following your experiences with great interest as I'm trying to persuade my Web support guys to move to OS X Server / Xserve / Xserve RAID - but they're very reluctant, telling me "they've only heard bad things"... So far, you're giving me some good ammunition...

    Duplicate emails in Mail 2.0

I've got problems with this too, but mainly with messages in my Sent folder being duplicated!!! I also use SpamSieve - you should definitely NOT have Mail's junk filter activated if you've got SpamSieve activated. Darkshadow - Is Rebuild also used to sort out duplicate messages? Mail's...

    Mail not working with Tiger

I don't have a fix within Apple, but I've installed spamsieve - it's working beautifully.. http://c-command.com/spamsieve/ (but it does cost $25) There are still lots of other little bugs in Mail... To name a few: 1) Sometimes the "flag" command works via keyboard - sometimes it...

can't boot into target / slave mode

OK - thanks for your input, Diablo... Rebooting from the Tiger DVD doesn't work - it just ignores it and boots up to the previous installation with apps loaded etc. Command+Option+O+F worked fine - I just typed "mac-boot" and hurried out... You're right - I am using my 1.33 GHz 17P...

can't boot into target / slave mode

I'm using the PowerBook's own keyboard! I haven't tried any of the other startup combos because I don't use them / know them. What would be a good one to try out? Thanks :)
