Can I prevent my Mac trying to update Safari?

Up until very recently I was using Flock but I then switched to Google Chrome (can't remember why exactly). I haven't tried Safari recently. Does it have a form filling tool?

Can I prevent my Mac trying to update Safari?

I never use the Safari browser but my Mac keeps prompting me to update the latest version until I do so, even when I uncheck the checkbox in the updater window. Can I do anything about this?

Mac won't go to sleep properly

OK, I tried this last night and I think I traced the time it woke up in the log (but I'm not sure). Does this mean anything to you?: 16/09/2010 23:24:07 [0x0-0x5e65e6].com.flock.Flock[27351] no details 16/09/2010 23:24:07 [0x0-0x5e65e6].com.flock.Flock[27351] no details 17/09/2010 01:59:49...

Mac won't go to sleep properly

The problem with this is I never know when it's going to reboot. I can't be waiting around for it to reboot, especially since sometimes it doesn't do this at all... Best I can do is put it to sleep before bed and jump out and check the log if I'm awake long enough to notice it happen.

Mac won't go to sleep properly

No I don't think there's any way it can be detecting movement and the sensor seems clean. The last couple of nights I have not turned off the mouse and it has stayed in sleep mode, so whatever is causing this is inconsistent.

Mac won't go to sleep properly

OK, I'm using a Logitech optical wireless mouse. After testing, this seems to be the device causing my Mac to wake up. Why would it be doing this and how can I prevent it (without turning the mouse off)?

Mac won't go to sleep properly

After I put my iMac to sleep it keeps waking up by itself. What would be causing this? (OS 10.5.8 Leopard)

Weird audio phase cancellation when capturing with iSight

I just shut down and rebooted normally and then tested iMovie. During recording CPU usage is between 32 and 35%. Attenuation isn't so much coming and going now as just getting quieter after 5 secs and remaining constant at that level. I note that the attenuation occurs 5-10 secs after I begin...

Weird audio phase cancellation when capturing with iSight

Ok, This is what I get when I try to capture from iMovie after rebooting in Safe Mode: "There's a problem accessing the iSight mic. Make sure no other applications are using it, or try disconnecting and reconnecting the iSight. If you record right now, your movies will be silent." ...!

Weird audio phase cancellation when capturing with iSight

The audio comes and goes with a whooshing sound. Not exactly volume attenuation. If you know what a guitar sounds like through a phaser pedal, that's exactly like what I'm hearing.

Weird audio phase cancellation when capturing with iSight

When I first got my iMac (OSX 10.5.2 with Leopard) I had no problem capturing audio/video in iMovie using my built-in iSight. Lately however I get a strange, undulating phase-cancellation sound appearing on the audio track about 10 seconds after I start recording. I can't hear this through my...

Can I use an external iSight with Intel chip iMac?

OK. It's just that I've seen many of these for sale on eBay and they all state (presumably cut-and-pasted from Apple website) Powermac G3,G4,G5 required. :?

Can I use an external iSight with Intel chip iMac?

I'm trying to work out a dual-camera setup which would allow me to capture two video sources simultaneously (for instructional video). It seems to me that since the built-in iSight camera on my iMac is of good enough quality for my needs that an external one might be a good choice for the second...

    GarageBand and external microphone

I want to use an external mic with GarageBand but after I set up audio preferences to read from the line-in port I don't see external input source offered in the dropdown menu in Garageband, only the internal mic. How is this done?

Emulation to work an app in Leopard?

This is happening to me too. I just switched to Mac 3 days ago and I use GP5 all the time as I teach guitar for a living. I barely have a chance to edit a file before it crashes on me! If anyone can offer help I'd appreciate it. I run an iMac 10.5 with Leopard.
