I had problems updating Stuffit Deluxe. Following Aladdin's directions, I Trashed what they said to trash. However, now I cannot empty the trash since I don't have permissions to do so. BTW: Aladdin has no suggestions. Can some of you with UNIX experience reply either directly or on list...

Could be a bad drive? Happens sometimes even with new ones, or the controler card could have a problem. Are you using a new cable. Also, do you have the id's set correctly so the drives do not conflict with each other?:rolleyes:

my suggestion would be to play with extension manager or Conflict Catcher and try to figure out which one is causing the problem. There is no possible way to tell you which one as machines and extension sets differ. BTW: A friend of mine swears computers have personalities and his doesn't like...

My first suggestion would be to fiddle with the sleep settings and see if anything changes.

Boot off the 9.2 CD. The 9.2 partition should show up. Got to disk setup, select the 9.2 partition and reformat, --after you back up of course.

On th RAM question with OS X, Apple recommends 128 Meg, which is probably conservative; so anything over 128 should run well. I know that Classic doesn't take a gig of ram for itself. I have a gig in my machine and I have been booted in X and have run Photoshop in Classic with a 200 meg app size...
