Newest known Tiger build: Mac OS X 10.4.3 8F8

While the Tiger builds have been fairly stable for the most part, they're nowhere near "ready for prime time". I think a January release is ludicrous. There's still substantial work to be done.

Newest known Tiger build: Mac OS X 10.4.3 8F8

Still? Was it ever slated for a January release? I remember when Amazon first listed it for pre-order they had a date of March 19th or something, but I doubt that was "official"...

    Switch from safari to firefox

I am aware of that. I have probably 50 or so sites that I log into though. I already have this info in my keychain. In Firefox when I browse to one of these sites, if I can't remember the password (I have too damn many these days) I have to open Keychain Access, search for that site, show its...

    Switch from safari to firefox

Well, in Tiger Safari 2.0 is a bit faster than Firefox 1.0. The main thing that keeps me from switching to Firefox is that it does not integrate with Keychain Access for saving and retrieving internet passwords. I have a lot of sites that I visit that have their passwords stored in my...

Airport Extreme with different brand of router?

If the router supports 802.11b or 802.11g standards then the AirPort Extreme card should work just fine.

Tiger Preview - no new bar?

I thought they were talking about Dashboard widgets, not Konfabulator widgets... Dashboard widgets will load in a browser.

Key Access - What is it?

We used to have a custom build of Informed Filler here and the clients all had to have accounts on a Key Server and have Key Access to... uh access the Key Server. I think we even had a keyed version of Microsoft Project (or was it Works? can't remember). Anyway, it was a pretty big PITA...

    Tiger screens (Dashboard, more)

LMAO! Those "computers" are fake (CG) IMO. I can't remember exactly, but I believe those pics are from a TV commercial for the U.S. cable channel TBS. @ TommyWillB - Heh. No way. That's right down the road from me pretty much. Guess I'm toast...

    Tiger screens (Dashboard, more)

Dude, perhaps he can't, or would rather not, divulge where he got the information that it is real. As far as DashBoard goes: If it is as extensible as, and does a better job of it than, Konfabulator I'm all for it. Otherwise it will surely be pretty lame...

    Create Rendezvous Bookmarks

If I'm not mistaken, those Rendezvous bookmarks are just available services (FTP, HTTP etc) of other Rendezvous-enabled machines on the subnet.

    Firewire 800?

Do you have a FireWire 800 drive? Wouldn't it have come with a cable? Or is this to transfer between a G5 and a non-FireWire 800 machine... which begs the question - wouldn't ethernet be faster?

    Colour iPod (merged thread)

LOL!! Yeah, I remember that "contest". I was one of the "winners". I never received my free membership… I could see a color LCD for displaying album art. Doesn't the new Sony player have that? That would be a "neat" feature.
