iLife or No iLife with Leopard

So I bought Leopard family-pack and installed on 4 Macs (and de-installed one). All installs were "clean installs". And all yielded Leopard WITHOUT iLife products (iPhoto, iTunes, etc.). Now people tell me that they also did "clean installs" and iLife was present afterwards. The only...

    Next MacWorld Agenda

There is something I just don't understand. Why do we need more memory on these items. My iTouch with 8Gb has my fully address book, my full calendar, 24 hours equivalent of music (10% of my iTunes) and a small movie. It still have plenty of space (3gb) to go. Surely we would want more...

    The new keyboards!

I use my wireless keyboard on the table. It is wireless to avoid unnecessary cables. It's castration for those that use it on the laps is understandable. But does that mean that desk-top users must use wired keyboards to have the numeric keypad? So If I change my "old" BT keyboard I either...

Looking for a decent external hard drive enclosure...

I fully agree, every point you put forwards is true to me also. My choice, the iomega minimax. Mainly because it sits nicely on top of my mac Mini which I use as a simple server. I have 1tb in total over 2 drives.

Looking for a decent external hard drive enclosure...

I set up my wife's iMAc to backup over wifi... but I don't use the airport extreme but a mac mini (mainly because the airport extreme did not exist when I decided to have a simple home server). Do you mean that the airport extreme "server" functionality will not work with timeMachine?

Looking for a decent external hard drive enclosure...

Why not consider an airport extreme base with any external drive and hide the two away since with airport you would link to the drive by means of wifi? ::sleepy:: .. and get a kick of knowing the marketing efforts of the external drive are wasted. ;) .. mind you what do you do about the...

WARNING - don't install 10.4.11 - includes new, buggy Safari

I have the safari issues as well. 1. Agree to fryke about the software specialist. 2. I also think Apple should improve its software development, I mean Leopard causes problems, not Tiger has issues. I'm losing that trust Apple has built over the years.

How can I view dynamic php pages developed locally

The php server environement is already installed on a iMac, look at the threads in this forum, there is one detailing how to activate it on Tiger. As per Leopard I think it already is activated. Also place calls to the php pages using localhost/...

    Full Screen CoverFlow in Finder?

It's available in front-row (even for the none IR-remote machines under Leopard). But somehow I don't think this is what you are looking for...

    The Missing iPhoto

From memory... Normally the install discs that are delivered with the iMac are the, so to speak, "version zero discs", of software such as iLife. However, I cannot remember if iLife was bundled in with 10.1.x. - and this may explain your issue. Also with the 10.3.9 and G3 you may need to...

    Unarchiving a ZIP

Hello All, With all of this Leopard updates I did something quite silly. I used the finder Archive to backup my Pictures directory. Now I am unable to expand it for absence of disk space. Ok, this is no small archive (60Gb). So I have checked to see if I can do a partial unarchive. In...

What do you wish Leopard would have?

I would like Leopard to remember what the Apple-Mac experience is all about. So whether it is ZFS or something else I don't care. I want things to work. I want silly things such as unarchive to check whether there is enough disk space BEFORE it starts unpacking. I think this is indicative...

Time Machine - finding a network drive

Just an update... for those expecting some response after further testing. I must dissappoint you all, I cannot provide feed-back as I downgraded. After one full week of hassle I downgraded and will upgrade back when Leopard is more stable. I use iMac for business and CANNOT be the...

10.5 First impressions - post yours

YOU MAY WONDER WHY I AM WRITING IN UPPERCASE... ITS BECAUSE MY KEYBOARD IS NOW INVERTED. CAPS LIGHT-OFF = UPPERCASE, NOW CAPS=ON = lowercase. This state of chaos my Macs (3) have entered since Leopard is dismal. Frankly, I strongly believe that Apple has not given 10.5.0 enough attention to...

Hate to upset you M. Burns, but I did do a clean install. I also used the case sensitive hard disk format. Was that what you used.. could be the cause, maybe? Open to any scientific black magic to get back rolling.
