Yeap...many of apps I have were purchase when I was a full time or part time student. Big saving ;) Even now I am not a student but I have so many cousins I can 'use' to help me to grab apps I want. However, the two universities in Vancouver doesn't have that kind of huge discount on M$...

I just download couple of DMG image files but I was doing this under OS 9 Now I boot back to X and try to use them but Disk Copy reports "unable to mount the image" What can I do????? Help....

I know what you mean... I am trying to be a good 'citizen' on this planet :p I pay for software but ONLY for those that I think that worth my dough..... There are too many crapware out there that should be free instead of charging user thousands of dollars :mad:

I don't why...it's a bit slower with my Epson Perfection 1200U.... Otherwise it's fine. I may pay for it too :)

This has happened to me once a while When I do a cold boot in X or restart from 9 to X there is an extremely long hang with the machine. The mouse is off, the tablet light is off. Nothing but the grey screen with the happy Mac. And then two minutes later things start to 'move'....the tablet...

I too have a DP machine (500) and have the exact same date and time problem :mad: OS 9 is fine though

I don't mind running some smaller apps under Classic But now I still can't use OS X full time because Photoshop and FCP are not native yet :mad: :mad: :mad:

I guess the cheapest solution to me right now is to continue using Word 98 under Classic ;) Some small apps that I am using now will never go carbon....so running Classic seems to be my daily activity. BTW...gimme native Photoshop and FCP!!!!!

I have couple of dock freezes lately. Mostly when one of the classic apps quits and then I want to relaunch it by clicking the icon on the dock the dock just freezes. The mouse cursor still moves but I can't do anything. I have to force restart the machine. Anyone knows how to 'force quit'...

The biggest problem with Golive is that it makes lots of proprietary (or call junk) codes in the HTML document which makes the page very 'inefficient' If Golive 6 still suffers this problem I would rather have Dreamweaver running under Classic forever than having Golive 6. DW 4 actually is...

So far I haven't heard of any hack to get the internal floppy back to work under X.....unfortunately :( The solution for now is to get a USB card and a USB floppy drive. Cost you $100 bucks total BTW.....the last time I was using the floppy disk was when I was still doing my graphic stuff...

Yes...you can't use the internal Floppy. Only the USB Floppy Drive is supported.

Right....AppleWorks is evil :mad: I would rather have Word 98 run under Classic than running AW natively....
