HAHAHA! "Gnu" jokes hidden in Mac OS X's UNIX underpinnings!

LOL - they're great. The question is, how did you come to be looking at files in the emacs dir? Methinks you have too much time on your hands ;o) They have some good EMACS ones too: Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping Emacs Manuals Are Cryptic and Surreal Eventually Munches All...

Yeah, Steve will no-doubt be "innovating our way out of the tiny minority we constitute". Bernie :o)

    Silly Cocoa Class Names

Don't know about cocoa, but I do know about biology. Following the lead set bu Valrus, an off-topic post: A way in which plants regulate growth is 'Thigmo-nasty' (amazing word :o), and a mechanism of removing parts of proteins is 'asymetrically rounded cleavage'. Bernie :o)

    How? How, how, how, how?!

Just had a closer look at some of the other graphics on SpyMac - they're really impessive some of them. I like that apple drawing (for the webmail link). They've got a really good semi-photorealistic illustration theme going... Might have to borrow the concept ;o) Bernie :o)

    LiveMotion 2.0

Yeah, that's the deal I got. Oh so very very nice to be a student... Bernie :o)

    LiveMotion 2.0

That was just really simple commands like start and stop on buton-presses. Useless for the purpose of developing complex interactive sites. I've made games like minesweeper, pong and noughts&crosses in Livemotion 2, and theres no way that would have been possible in version 1 Bernie :o)

    How? How, how, how, how?!

I'm guessing that's the radiosity option. Also, if you look closely, it's 4 stacks of paper duplicated on top of each other. Despite the package they say it was done in, there is a lot of photoshop (or equivilant) in there. They've airbrushed bits. Berrnie :o)

    LiveMotion 2.0

That was javascript when you were exporting to sliced images in auto-generated HTML pages, and it let you write rollover behaviours and event handlers. LM 2's Javascript can be used to controll the Flash swf environment too. It's really very good. Bernie :o)

    LiveMotion 2.0

Almost identical. Just a slightly different Document Object Model to HTML. LM 2 supports JavaScript too. Bernie :o)

    LiveMotion 2.0

Yup. 2 or 3 minor differences, but otherwise identical. Bernie :o)

    How? How, how, how, how?!

This is a workflow I use for making an illustration from a photo. Illustrations just look cleaner, and nicer than photos. Three Photoshop tools - Select, Airbrush (helps if you have a tablet, but not essential) and Gradient. Take a photo of your subject (or scan a drawing). Select areas...

    Chimera 0.2.1

Doesn't work well on IE for the mac I find. I've tried defining the size in pixels, but it still seems to produce inconsistant results. I blame Microsoft for trying to be clever. Bernie :o)

    iShake

Ahh, but the developers might call it iShake as a techie joke during develpoment... These techies have strange senses of humor. Bernie :o)

    Chimera 0.2.1

Alas the 'average' surfer is not as knowledgeable. When I design a website, my contract promises that it will look OK "On all PC browsers and IE for the mac". Most users of Netscape/iCab/Opera/OmniWeb probably don't adjust their minimum font sizes, so any websites I make will look crap in them...

    Chimera 0.2.1

Oh DHTML menus - yup, they work fine (at least the ones on PHP Wizard work OK) Bernie :o)

You mean File, Edit etc...? If so, then yes. Bernie :o)

    Chimera 0.2.1

And something else I just realised - have you tried uploading a file in Chimera? I just posted that attachment, and had to type the file path into the file browse box, because the open dialouge doesn't work now that's the kind of bug they should be fixing ASAP. That said...
