Which free Apple apps do you keep in your Dock?

Dayamm! I forgot TextEdit! And now I can't go back and change it 'cause I already voted. :o

    drag & drop breaks (jag)

Losing drag'n'drop can often be cured by deleting the file /Library/Preferences/com.apple windowserver.plist. That's the root-level Library, not the one in your Home directory.

    DRM evil comes home

Might be related to DVDs. I don't have a DVD player, and I don't have this mysterious file, either.

HELP! I have a big problem...

Amen to that, Ed! DiskWarrior/PlusOptimizer is the essential repair utility. And an OS X-native version is scheduled to be released in 6 to 8 weeks! :D

Sherlock yellow pages can't find Apple Store

I prefer Watson, both for the better translation feature (more available languages) and the TV listings. We have digital cable, and all those interesting channels up above 100 aren't included in the print TV listings. But I do use both Sherlock and Watson regularly. :)

    Speed Up Mac OS X.2...

Updating prebindings may make your applications launch faster, but I doubt they run faster. What's changed in Jaguar is that the system now checks and (if necessary) updates prebindings for each individual app when it is launched. This of course takes a little time. Apparently, doing a...

Is Drive 10 a good app?

As of version 10.1.1.2, it's pretty decent. But if I had to pick just one utility, I'd go with Alsoft's DiskWarrior/PlusOptimizer CD. And they have an OS X-native version in the works, supposed to be about 6 weeks from release.

    Clear Office from drive??

The most common cause of this program is corrupted fonts, often in the Classic system folder. Another possible cause is the ToastVideoCDcomponent extension in /Library/QuickTime. That's the easiest to "fix" - just remove it, To check on fonts, try using a utility like FontDoctor (if you have...

    10.2.1 update is out!!!!!

A lot of people have noticed the Chimera problem. Try downloading the latest nightly build. Maybe they have updated it to handle 10.2.1.

    How will we install classic?

Apple has stated that Classic apps will still run in a modified form of OS 9 emulation. I just gotta make sure that I have a DiskWarrior 3 CD before I get one of those new single-booting Macs! :p

    10.2.1 update is out!!!!!

Rats! One build short! ;) Guess I'll have to wait 'til it's available on Apple's website. :p (Hehehe! It's already posted as a stand-alone on versiontracker.com!)

Opera 6.0 is coming for OS-X

It's easy to change the Mozilla dock icon. You just copy & paste a new icon into the Get Info window to change Moz's icon, and then drag it to the dock. I use a red T. Rex head for Mozilla on my machine.

    virex or norton antivirus?

If you're running Classic, you still have a little vulnerability. Like I said, I actually got infected with the Sevendust virus in my Classic system folder shortly after installing 10.0, when I was surfing the Web "naked." :p

    virex or norton antivirus?

Virex does do heuristic analyses, if you select it in the preferences. I don't know about NAV (but I suspect it doesn't).

    virex or norton antivirus?

Well, I have to go with NAV, basically for the auto-protect feature. And I did have a couple of files infected with the old classic Sevendust shortly after installing OS X 10.0. Virex is not free, BTW. You gotta shell out $$ for .Mac in order to get it.

Opera 6.0 is coming for OS-X

It's gonna have to be way better than their last OS X beta for me to give it a try. Between Chimera's pure speed, and Mozilla's overall handiness, I'm not even using OmniWeb much any more. BTW, anybody tried mouse gestures in Mozilla yet? Love 'em! :D

    suitecase instaling WITHOUT classic OS

That's not quite the problem. I tried to install Suitcase on an OS X-only system, and it just plain would not install. Not even when I tried the custom install without the Classic component. I finally had to install 9.2.2 on my FireWire drive in order to get Suitcase to install.
