Power Computing PowerTower -- How to boot from CD

I happened to have a fresh battery. Tried that -- no luck. Can't maka a floppy bc I don't have a floppy on my good mac(s). Have a floppy on my PC tho. Is there a way to use that over a network to make a disk? Kinda doubt it.

Power Computing PowerTower -- How to boot from CD

Bobw -- Yes, it had been sitting around a while, but I know it was working when the previous owner (my friend) had it. Zapping the PRAM didn't make a difference. I suspect the drive is shot because it starts accessing it on boot, gives me a happy mac, then the drive clicks and clicks until...

Power Computing PowerTower -- How to boot from CD

Bobw-- It's the OS 7.6.1 system cd that came with the machine (specifically for this PowerTower Pro). It's just not being recognized. Don't have Norton or TechTool Pro, but I thought I should be able to boot from this system CD.

Killer X11 Apps --- any suggestions?

Hi All, I've asked this question before but no response. Thought I'd give another try: What are some of the great apps for X11? Thanks

Power Computing PowerTower -- How to boot from CD

Hi All, Someone gave me their old PowerTower Pro. The system can't boot from the drive -- i.e. question-mark at boot -- so I'd like to boot from the CD (luckily I have it!) in order to troubleshoot. How? I tried holding down C on startup, doesn't work. Thanks.

Viewing PC through on-screen window -- hardware solution?

Just seems to make more sense. One example of a real world circumstance: while booting up the PC, or setting the PC BIOS, I doubt a software solution like Timbuktu would be able to send images through the network, through my mac and into a window on the screen. I know there are video cards...

Viewing PC through on-screen window -- hardware solution?

Hi All, I currently have a KVM switch that allows me to share my monitor and keyboard between my mac and pc. But I'd like to take things one step further: Is there a solution that would allow me to show my PC screen in a corner (or in a window) of my mac monitor and possibly switch between...

I got CF running on JRUN4 on my mac yesterday. Woo hoo!

ColdFusion templates -- NOT relying on CFINCLUDE

It works great. I'd like, however, to take it a step further: as it is now, I can use the Application.cfm file to insert everything up to my content, which I include in div tags in the file requested by the user (let's call it test.cfm). Then, the OnRequestEnd.cfm file includes the footer and...

ColdFusion templates -- NOT relying on CFINCLUDE

Teamteama -- As per your recommendation, I read the article and it looks easy enough. Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction! :-)

ColdFusion templates -- NOT relying on CFINCLUDE

Hi All, I'd consider myself beginner/intermediate with ColdFusion. I use template includes constantly to build pages on-the-fly. But I'm hoping someone can put me in the right direction regarding this question: I'd like my CF app to ASSUME I want certain things on every page -- i.e. the...

    12" PB Feedback

Love mine. But 2 gripes: 1. Battery time sucks. I've read there are problems with the battery running out too fast. I haven't properly investigated whether mine has this particular problem or not, or whether it's just another case of Apple's overzealous advertising. 2. As nb3004 says: It...

    Open With...how??

Two ways: A) Control-click on the item and you'll see "Open With" in the resulting menu. B) Drag and drop the file onto the icon for the app you'd like to open it with. Choice A is easier, I think. On your second question, OS9 installs with OSX. No need to partition. When you launch...

    Photoshop resizing question

Hi All, When resizing an image in Photoshop, you're given a choice of how to resample it: bilinear, bicubic and nearest neighbor. Is there a way to (easily) choose a method for resizing when using edit > transform > scale on a layer? And what method is Photoshop using by default when...

    Konfabulated desktops

I downloaded and installed Konfabulator. The battery widget works fine, but the Airport strength widget doesn't seem to work, and the weather widget reads "n/a unknown" even though I set my location. Yes, I'm online and using airport. And the strength is showing up as usual in the menubar...
