Im looking for some software to increase the chances of me getting my PB back if it is ever stolen. Im thinking maybe something that will "phone home" with an IP adress or something like that. I dont know, really, so thats why I came to you guys. What reccomendations do you guys have?

i havent had the oppertunity to install os x, but so far, the easiest installer i have used is YaST on SuSE 9.0.

the google desktop search really sucks, it takes like a week to start recording things, and even then, it dosent work with any programs real users use. i was lucky and got a free copy of the X1 search program, which seems a lot like spotlight. its nice because it lets you preview all kinds of files.

im not talking so much battery drain during sleep, but the effects of sleep on the battery on a long term scale. my teacher used to put her ibook on sleep all the time, but over time, the battery capacity went down. anyone heard of anything like this?

there are a few garmin PDAs with built in GPS. and most PDAs can be hooked up to a GPS adapter.

i used it on windows with a 1.5/256 dsl connection, and it was such a bandwidth hog, that i couldent even surf the web while i was using it. other than that, its a great program, and if you have a big pipe, then youll love it
