    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

    Exactly my point.

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

Which absolutely does nothing to disprove my statement? Where did I "re-write" history? Apple saw something that had a future at Xerox Parc and ran with it to creat their own "version" of it. Microsoft saw something at Apple and ran away with a copy of it to make their own "version".

    Network Bridging & port forwarding

Is the built-in firewall on or off? You may need to configure it to allow incoming and outbound port 80 requests. Check here: http://www.applefritter.com/node/9275 open /Applications/Utilities/Terminal type man route

    Itunes... who designed this?

None that work as well as Anapod. It's worth the purchase and the developers are always updating it and adding new features to it. Upgrades are free for life. Especially if you move that iPod around between computers or between OSX and XP a lot, then buy Anapod Explorer.

    upgrade

And the Mac mini doesn't have a built-in modem, that's a separate purchase to get a USB dial-up modem. But it supports broadband connections with its built-in 10/100 ethernet port...and wi-fi if you get one with Airport built-in.

    Random Sending - Mail.app

Hmmm...what does the activity viewer in the mail app say? Any logfiles? What's the mail server running? (God, don't let it be Exchange!)

    Itunes... who designed this?

Back when I was on a PC at home I used Anapod Explorer. http://www.redchairsoftware.com/anapod/ Supports drag-n-drop straight to the iPod. But to add new songs in iTunes for Windows you have to "import" them in from a selection in the menu.

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

Nah, Apple copied them from Xerox Parc first, then MS copied them from Apple. ;)

    New Intel iBooks at Macworld??

Hmmm....even if an Intel-based Apple notebook came out, wouldn't ALL the software have to be recompiled for the new processor? Yeah, I don't think I'll be buying any Apple Intel-based computers in the first round of sales until almost everything has been ported over natively.

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

I never really played around with OS9 on anything other than fixing a friend's broadband issues on her Mac. But coming from Windows XP Pro I can tell you OS X 10.4.3 is a hell of lot "snappier" on a Mac mini with 1 GB RAM than XP Pro was on a 3Ghz machine with 1 GB RAM. And I usually don't have...

External DVD Burner - Says burning not supported!?

Hmmm...odd. My Lacie USB 2.0 external dual-layer DVD burner was supported right out of the box on my Mac mini with OSX 10.4.3. It's a lot faster than the internal drive on burning CDs as well. It's a "leftover" machine I used on my Toshiba XP Pro laptop when the internal DVD-ROM burner...

How Could One Not Know What Type of Computer One Owns?

I think that says something about Apple right there. If an OS caused a user a lot of problems then they would probably automatically know what kind of system they are using from having to tell people over and over again what it is on tech support calls or looking online for answers. If nothing...

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

Well, you can re-jigger Vista to look and operate EXACTLY like 2000 workstation. Matter-of-fact, when XP Pro came out and we switched to it at work (mandated switch) we had to reconfigure the install builds so that it looked/operated just like 2000. Our users were really confused with the...

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

Honestly, Vista will come out and some dev will look at some of the more "neat" features in it and do the same thing for Linux/Mac OS X, only it will crash less and probably be freely distributed. Some of the more "neat" features had an odd Mac OS X-type of feel to them, and even Yahoo is...

    Windows Vista's Revolutionary New Features

Basically, Bill G is saying "wonk wonk wonk" like Charlie Brown's teacher. I've tried Vista...same ol' XP Pro only with weirder "Mac-wannabe" GUI features. "Dear Bill, It's the registry, stupid."

    Network Bridging & port forwarding

Check the firewall settings. You may need to configure the port forwarding settings the hard way via the terminal...not too sure of what it is on the Mac OS X version of *nix, but they are usually all the same.

Pocket PC using windows mobile 5 in Mac possible?

Ugh, dump the Windows mobile device. A good replacement would be just about anything Symbian-based. My Nokia syncs my address and calendar PERFECTLY with my OS X 10.4 via bluetooth much better than anything I was able to use on the XP Pro laptop. OS X installed a little sync app on the phone...

    Mac+PC iPod question.

You should be able to do it. I know when I switched from XP Pro to OS X 10.4 I was able to sync up my PC-formatted iPod flawlessly. OS X even saw it as a drive in Finder. Of course, since I was using a newer version iTunes it required a newer version of the iPod update...and since I'm on a Mac...

PC cant see Mac files (Networking)

You check the built-in firewall settings on the PC? XP Pro SP2 has that enabled by default when it gets installed.
