Nothing APE works in Panther so far...

1) No. 2) If you zoom, yes, I think. It just keeps getting bigger. PS, I'm back on Jag now. I heard all this crap about Panther and iPods, and I'm getting one this weekend, so I figure "Why risk it?" I'll reinstall Panther once I've got everything on my iPod. hehe

Ohh man...I had to do an erase and install to get 7B21 working. And I can't copy the plist file from my Jag partition because there is none. Is there a workaround? Maybe looking in the prefs file for something to toggle off or something?

Panther isn't 64-bit...it's a 32-bit OS with 64-bit extensions that enable it to utilize the G5's "64-bit-ness"...that's why it's running on everyone's G3 and G4...It's just like 10.2.7.

...problem is, I don't have Disc 2 :D

Does anyone know exactly what 'extra apps' are contained on disc 2? I am thinking about installing Panther with just disc 1 but want to make sure what I'm going to miss from disc 2...Thanks.

OK, thanks. I just thought maybe Panther used a different BootX File format, or something different is contained in the BootX than what was contained in there in Jag...but OK, thanks anyway.

Does anyone know if MacBoot works with Panther? (FYI, MacBoot is a utility that changes the 'grey apple' during boot to a logo of your choice.)

For me, AIM has a weird glitch. Whenever a sound is activated (sending/recieving IMs, etc.), AIM freezes for about half a second. That may not seem like much...but half a second every IM adds up. For now, I'm using iChat (I'm liking it more and more every day...lol)...so there's my 2 cents.
