have you tried CSS? throw a style="width: 100%;" in the textarea tag and see what happens. Tables and form elements have always been a little screwy, so I'm not sure if that even works.

Odd. most of the text does have serifs in my browser (Safari). And I have my default set to Helvetica. It may have something to do with the fact that the font name Times New Roman is not wrapped in quotes in the style sheet. Wrap everything.
