    Frozen on logout/restart/shut down

Lately, I've been noticing problems when logging off and restarting/shutting down my mac. It goes as far as to only display the wallpaper, then is completely frozen. I can get back the finder and the top menubar (no time bar) by clicking menu on my apple remote (little snitch automatically...

Is there any code available or an option to set my mac to wake from sleep and log me in at a certain time each day? Thanks.

Cannot choose startup disk during boot

It has always worked for me by holding down the option key during boot but now it is not working. It just boots into mac os x without allowing me to choose the disk while I am holding option. Any help?

    Am i covered????

Unfortunately, does not cover... However you can probably bring it in the the apple store for a repair, although it will cost you. To backup, it has to be read by disk utility (if its bootable, it is). You can either just burn your important information to dvds, flash drive, etc. You could...

    Stop Control-F11 from decreasing volume

Thank you, that fixed my problem.... except it says to use the fn key to use the printed things on the keys (show all windows as F4, F2 to increase brightness, F12 to increase volume, etc). I'm obviously not using a laptop considering I just bought the keyboard, so why the heck would it make the...

    Stop Control-F11 from decreasing volume

Yes, as I said, whenever I try to set the key combination, it just does F11 (decrease the volume) so it will not let me set it.

    Stop Control-F11 from decreasing volume

Hi, I just bought a new keyboard for my mac, and although it is very sleek (but the keys are smaller), I have a problem. I cannot configure Control-F11 as an application shortcut. It will only decrease the volume when I try to set it as that. Is there a way to do this? (*Better be :D) Thanks.

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Actually, at the Apple store and then back at my house I plugged the mouse into the keyboard, I guess that's the cause of the mouse delay.

    Computer making buzzing/humming sound

Edit: I used iStat and found that during the buzzing sound, the fan rpm's were much higher than without the buzzing sound. CPU fan was 1071 and hard drive was 1361 *this is the one that seems noticeably higher than without the buzzing* vs under 1000 rpm for CPU without buzzing, and under 1200...

    Computer making buzzing/humming sound

Alright, I brought it to them and they could not help because they couldn't get the sound (its very random occurrence, except when it comes it comes and goes for a while). However, I have localized the sound as you requested in your original reply, and it seems to be coming from the front of the...

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Is there a demo of DiskWarrior? Also, my problem of it rebooting upon login seems to have gone away (we couldn't replicate it at the apple store, and it's not happening now either), but a new problem has arisen (not very bugging me, but maybe its another hint at what's wrong?). When I first...

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Yes, my antivirus updates itself each time I login.

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Yes the boot chime. It was nonexistent. Edit: I just tried rebooting into Windows again to see if perhaps it was coincidence, and it happened again- went through consistency check again, this time it found a couple errors (said they were truncated?) and then tried to login, and it rebooted...

    Computer making buzzing/humming sound

Here's just an update, and new occurance that just happened to me: http://macosx.com/forums/hardware-peripherals/303156-mac-hardware-problem-perhaps-power-supply.html Anyways, I guess I should bring it to the Genius bar. Would you recommend that, or can you pinpoint what the issue is...

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Update: I just rebooted into windows (held option key once it started restarting), and oddly enough it restarted quickly, and I didn't hear the usual trademark sound when it came to the choose your startup disk screen. Anyways, I preceded and started up in Windows, and it came to a screen that...

Mac Hardware problem (perhaps power supply?)

Hi, I have just experienced a problem with my mac- I was booted in windows, clicked standby, and it restarted into mac.... that was very odd, and I clicked sleep on the login screen once in mac, and oddly enough the screen went black for a split second then turned back on... any ideas?
