Volonters wanted: Development of a Freeware Font Package for Mac

That may be the case, but the fact that they have the .dfont extension has been known to hose some older RIPs. I don't know what it is, but they also tend to cause issues for some people who use Suitcase to manage fonts.

    Golive - Dreamweaver. What's happening?

Yeah. Don't be fooled by all the he-said, she-said talk. Adobe is dropping GoLive and Freehand. The fact that they will "support" the apps means absolutely nothing more than they'll have a User Forum for them on their Web site.

Volonters wanted: Development of a Freeware Font Package for Mac

You might also consider NOT using .dfont format. They're a P.I.T.A. to deal with for many printers. Why not just use TrueType?

Hard Drive Full but what from?

Well there's something funky going on with your music folder. I would delete it and then see what the disk space does. If it drops dramatically, then add the music back a little at a time. Also, the OS uses hard drive space as virtual memory. This can take up a lot of space or very little... it...

If that doesn't work, you may need to get a copy of either TechTool Pro or DiskWarrior.

    library on desktop?

You need to move it back into your "Users/home" folder. The problem is, there is probably another one already there because the OS needs it to run, so it re-created it. You will have to overwrite the existing one if there is in fact one already in there. If it isn't already in the Users/Home...

How to stop DVD player from launching when a DVD is inserted

Good thing you're not talking about Windows... that would most certainly require a complete re-install and a service pack update to do!

out of these two keyboards what would you pick ?

I've long since given up on Logitech. I think most of their stuff is crap. I grabbed a MS keyboard and I love it! As far as wireless optical, I can't stand them. The mouse isn't as accurate and gets "jittery" far too often. Perhaps the laser ones are better. But for my buck, I prefer the...

Illustrator Cs2 - Linked Photoshop Files

As Natobasso stated, layered .tif files aren't the most optimal format to use. You should just save them as layered .psd files and place those. Most printers RIP software doesn't work well with layered .tif files anyway, so they'll probably end up converting them and re-linking - something...

anybody know how this was done (itunes catalog)?

Have you tried sending an email to the author? Many times they'll send you an older version rather than the latest if you ask.

    Black Mac Book finish?

Hey, if they can put a glossy black finish (kind of like the black iPod Nanos) with some kind of charcoal/graphite colored trim on a new case enclosure I think it would look cool. Dell boxes suck because they're ugly designs covered in even uglier promo stickers, not because they're black. :D

What Would Happen If You Trashed Your HD?

Nothing would happen. It won't allow you to trash your hard drive from the desktop. The only way to hose yourself like that is to be logged in as Root user and physically drag all the folders from the hard drive into the trash and empty it. Even then I don't think it would allow you to trash...

    ilife on an Ibook G3???

Ebay is all I can think of. Unless you happene to know someone who has a copy they are willing to loan you. That being said, I was unaware that there was a difference between the versions in regards to the G3 and G4. I know that my copies came on a CD and a DVD (CD version doesn't install iDVD...

    ilife on an Ibook G3???

yes it is. I run it on my 500mhz G3 iBook. Well, that is to say I installed it. Actually using it is more frustrating than it's worth. It's just too darn slow!

    Linotype Font Management

<p> That's overly generalized. I run it at home and at the office with no problems at all. But, I run a very clean system and I'm quite knowledgable about the OS and its quirks. I could also just be "lucky" in that nothing is conflicting with Fusion and I don't have any corrupt fonts. On...

    system fonts interacting with websites

You have more than one version of Helvetica installed. Unfortunately, OSX requires Helvetica.dfont to work properly. Completely trashing the Fractions fonts is all but necessary, but you also have to "manage" all the duplicate fonts in all three of the Library folders as well. Then, go into...

    Linotype Font Management

The one thing that Suitcase Fusion has over other font managers is the ability to activate/de-activate a single font in a typeface. So I can turn on Helvetica Condensed Bold Oblique without turning on all the Helvetica Condensed fonts. This is especially useful when you have a font conflict but...
