I wouldn't say GB is pointless if you own Soundtrack, they're entirely different programs. You can't do multitrack recording with Soundtrack and it doesn't support MIDI. It's more of a loop sequencer for working with video. GB is far more useful in general, I'd have it over Soundtrack any day.

The cable sounds fine, I can't see how it could be the wrong one (unless it's faulty). Have you checked to see if you're getting an input in the sound control panel?

Cool. I'd seen the similar Yamaha system before but this looks a bit better, hopefully shouldn't cost too much too. I'd imagine that Apple would implement this sooner rather that later since they're already quite big on DVD writing.

Cool. I got an 800 MHz upgrade for my Sawtooth 350, that just reminded me I meant to try and overclock it. I think it goes up to about 1.4 in theory but bumping it up a few hundred MHz would be nice. I noticed on another site that people had managed to squeeze G4s into Colour Classics too!
