Macromedia MX 2004 Software Now Available

My results so far in Flash MX 2004: The interface is almost identical except a few more specialized pallettes and updated graphics. Unless you are really into integrating Flash with video or are advanced user that requires a touch better database or XML connectivity my recommendation is...

Macromedia MX 2004 Software Now Available

They are finally released for those who want to download them. So far what I have seen in Flash MX2004 isn't much different from MX, but I still have preformance tests of my own to run. I'll let you know what I find. It may not be worth an upgrade.

MX 2004 - New Macromedia Products

Im' very happy to see this update. Macromedia MX on OSX has been somehwhat of a disappointment. I hope that MX2004 (don't really like the name) will solve many of the preformance issues. Also, despite the preformance issues, Fireworks totally kills Photoshop except for the print world...

    Attention Mac Pirates...

Once again...... I think Live Motion is dead, so in this case I think your guess is off the mark.... unless you know something I don't. I agree with you in general. I just wanted to clarify this.... again. slo

    Attention Mac Pirates...

Just a note on Live Motion 3 being PC only..... I believe that Adobe disbanded the Live Motion team, and gave up on trying to beat Flash. If they resurrect it, there may be a good chance of it being PC only, but last I heard - it was dead. It's too bad, as I think it had potential...

    Site Check and Redirect

I would make the sections more clear and consisitent. Typo on the About Me page - "I diceided" Otherwise good stuff. Don't worry about the CSS stuff for another year, but brush up on it in the mean time.

    Flash Hyperlink--New to this...be cool!

There are two main ways in Flash MX: 1. make the current animation a movie clip - F8 (if it isn't already**), and the open up your "actions" panel and add an onClip event. It should look like this: onClipEvent (mouseUp) { getURL("www.macosx.com", "_blank"); } * you can replace...

I did it! Bill would be proud! - My 2 cents

I can't help but post this even though the thread has been closed - so my apologies to moderators and viewers. I started a post regarding that I finally caved in and bought my first PC to have more access to software that tends to be PC only. I even said it wasn't Apple's fault, and I...

I did it! Bill would be proud!

I finally did it! I gave up trying to develop back end database stuff with my Mac, and bought myself a used Dell w XP to use as a server. I will never be limited again!!!! As much as I love my two macs, I have one major beef, and oddly enough is not Apple's fault - I am tired of nobody...

    Can't Open Netinfo

Thanks, but I noticed on the system requirements for the utility, that it was for x.1.5 only, but I gave it a whirl anyways, and it "unexpectdly quit".... Would there be any reason that I can't overwrite the httpd.conf file, if I have logged in as root. What the heck does the "swap file...

    Can't Open Netinfo

Thanks for trying, but the odd thing is that the "security" drop down, as are the other drop downs, is unavailable to me! I know it should be there, but it isn't!

    Can't Open Netinfo

Please help me, I am having a few related problems with persmissions etc. in OSX.2.3 1. When I open Netinfo Manager, I get the error: domain (null) has no root account..... which doesn't make sense, because there is obviously is a root user, and I CAN authenticate in the Terminal, but I can't...

How come nobody mentioned this? ColdFusion on OSX?

Can you clarify for me what the difference between CF and CF J2EE server is? It seems that CF is not available for the Mac, but CF J2EE is. I'm confused if there is a difference. Also, although I know of CF, I don't know too much about it. Is it a newer version of Generator, or does it have...

Flash designers ... what setup do you have?

Het Twister, I'm happy to recommend purchasing a Mac, as I think they are great machines, however, when it comes to Macromedia products, and Flash MX in particular, there have been several Mac users (including myself), that have encountered major performance problems. Here is a link to a...

    LiveMotion Future

Does anybody know the future of Adobe LiveMotion? If they were continuing with the typical release dates, version 3 should be out soon, but I'm afraid that Adobe has pulled the plug on it. It disappeared from the Adobe Web Collection about a two months ago. I really liked the AE...

    Flash MX Bug IN OSX.2

Here is a message thread on Macromedia's Flash Forum: http://webforums.macromedia.com/flash/messageview.cfm?catid=194&threadid=445107&highlight_key=y&keyword1=mac I'll try to find more "authentic" instances, but I didn't add them to my favorites during my research. The best way to see...

    Flash MX Bug IN OSX.2

I'm running Jaguar on a new iMac Flat Panel 700 with 512, and also run 10.1 on a G4 300 with 576. Both have this problem, and I originally thought it was a problem with OSX.1, but upon using Jaguar, I realized that it was MX, and started to do some research on it, and sure enough - others...

    Flash MX Bug IN OSX.2

You may not be missing anything, but I would like to know what your secret is. It has been well documented and admitted by Macromedia that there are major problems with Flash MX in OSX. If you know something thousands of other users don't. Let us know. I have heard people say "yeah, there...

    Flash MX Bug IN OSX.2

This is a call to arms for Flash MX and MAC OSX users! For those of you who use Flash MX on either a PC or still use Flash 5 on an older MAC OS, you might not be aware that there is a 3 second lag every time you select a frame, object, window, etc.. Over a work day you can spend upwards of...
