Everytime I purchase a new OS, I always make a copy of the disc. I just use disk utility. When I got Tiger I made a copy on the DVD-R disk. I have never had a problem with any copy.
I have a Quicksilver 733, and replaced my CD drive with a Pioneer 109 superdrive, and in order to get the drive to work as it should, I had to download and install Patchburn. www.patchburn.de
I just recently installed the OWC 1.2Ghz Mercury exteme into my Quicksilver 733. It was a piece of cake. No problem at all.The OWC video was a big help. Just follow the directions. OWC tech support was also great..
I just recently installed the Pioneer 109 in my Quicksilver 733, Used Patchburn, and the drive seem to be working fine. In regards to making a bootable DVD, I dont know as Im still waiting to get tiger..
