Have you tried other CDs? I mean that if the CD you have tried (to rip) has grooves or etc.. The reason why it is so slow can be that easy. Try another CD. If importing tracks still is slow, then there might be something wrong with the iTunes, (if the 1 or 2 first tracks go quickly)

Get newer update. International versions of 9.2.2 are available, so get one, I have iMacDV400 and it freezed with 9.1 update and the company where I bought my mac gave me newer update (9.2.1) and now it works like a..a.. bird! =) no probs!

You will get a new connector (for free naturally). In my school we had 2 iMacs with the same problem. Also the color of the screen changed, when the powersource was touched. The creen became pink etc...

Well is the screen black or grey and wavy? I have sometimes had the same thing. My hard disk was damaged and the screen was only black. When I put system cd (which came with the computer) the computer worked, but I couldn't do anything, because the computer claimed, that hard disk was locked...

Oh sorry, i meant freezer... Typing error.. So short freezin can give more life to your batteries. It forces the battery to "clear its memory". Do like this (if you dare): •Put the battery to freezer •After 30 minutes you can take it away from the freezer •Wait until it comes to normal...

I have heard, that putting the battery to freeze, should recover it... I haven't tried it with computers, but with mobile phones it works. One of my friends has a freezed battery, and it works nearly as long as mine, which isn't freezed...So if you have nothing to loose, why not make a try?
