I use a wireless (not optical) Logitech mouse and the results so far are quite good.
Logitech has drivers (in beta), check out http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=14421&db=mac

Does anyone know of a flag to tell netstat or some other program to get what processes are using the network and their activity?
My network usage monitor is showing download activity all the time and I do not know what is causing it.
Thanks in advance.

'setenv' is a tcsh shell command, which is the default on MacOSX. On the remote system, you are using a different shell, which seems to be 'ksh'.
Do a 'man ksh' to check out how to set environment variables in ksh.

3-1.
Penalty scored by Hierro, while Chilavert fell like a dead stone. =)
On the other hand, the penalty was not crystal clear.
Chilavert shot a good one but Casillas catched it in good order.
Did I say 'Final Cut'? I surely meant 'Media Cleaner'... But, if Final Cut can export/import MPEG4 so should Media Cleaner as it uses the QT API and available codecs...

(Edit: but do I need a QT6-specific pro key to do that?)
Shite, I would love to have a QT6 enhanced mediacleaner just now... Or a working media cleaner, anyway.
Problem is that as far as I know there's no way of buying a QT6 pro key as of now.

Hey, QT6 has come out (public preview). Does this mean we'll have a greater choice of options to encode/decode? Do we have to pay a pro license?
I am refraining of installing QT6 if I cannot enhance Media Cleaner.

Sourceforge has been updating its downloads section of late. That means some of your download links in fink no longer work, copy the URL and get the file by hand.
To permanently solve this you'll have to update fink to use cvs, then it'll fetch hte lates download links that the fink and...
AdmiralAK, I also strongly hoped I would not become like them (in fact, did not think of becoming a professor at all). And one day, ZAP! I enjoy preparing my lab classes on my CUBE, hehehe...
I hope I'm not so bad as some of 'em, though. :)

What 'kill' does is ask the OS to send a 'signal' to the process. To issue a 'kill' without parameters is to send a "nice" signal to the process telling it to shutdown. If the program is not crashed, it can cleanup any used resources and cleanly quit.
If it's crashed you can send it a TERM...
I agree completely with you. However, it seems Macromedia is dragging its feet porting and upgrading (even for MS Windows) Director MX.
****, I've built a compiler/interpreter-maker in Director myself. The thing is fed a custom language grammar definition and runs programs written in that...
<shout>HEY MACROMEDIA! MOVE YOUR ASS! WE'LL BE LINING UP TO UPGRADE YOUR SOFTWARE! THAT MEANS $$$!</shout>
Sorry, I had to do it. It's a piece of software I use everyday and will upgrade immediately.

Has anyone used the 'Pure Data' music UNIX software yet? It seems to be a powerful (and complex) piece of software.
It seems to use the Tcl/Tk framework (and the latest Apple-developed one, not the one shipped with OSX) and I can't seem to figure it out. I'm spoiled by Fink =)
TIA,

I am also interested in this. I am also using Media Cleaner 5 on OSX.
I am annoyed by the impossibility of using RealMedia on OSX.
What also annoys me is the inability to use WMV as input.
We are currently analysing MCP5 on OSX to be a generic encoder/decoder but I am encountering...
There is a Aqua frontend in development, check out VersionTracker. There were some downloading problems but I suppose they will be solved in the future.

The bastards...
I'm sure there are internal builds at Macromedia that run like a champ.
Two things itch me so much: Macromedia dragging its feet releasing Director MX and Real dragging its feet releasing RealPlayer for OSX
