    Matrix Revolutions

I personally enjoyed it (saw it in English). A few pro's (does not contain spoilers): - The "For Zion" battle is just excellent. I'm an old Games Workshops Warhammer 40K fan, some of you know what I mean :p - I love the aesthetic of the Train/Trainman scenes, esp. the first one (beg. of...

Panther problem: fuzzy screen when waking

I don't understand this. I set my comp to sleep. When I wake it up, the screen is fuzzy and screen settings are slightly modified (bottom of Dock offscreen). Quite annoying. Any solution ?

Panther anti-piracy - where is it?

During the Paris Apple Expo 2003, at the end of a Panther conferece: Myself (Q) "Is Panther protected by any means against piracy ?" Apple French director (A) "No, Apple is trusting its userbase. No serial, no info sent over the Web at install". Pretty clear, hm ?

    Studying intellectual property

Hello people, As a student in political science, I have chosen to place the coming student year under the sign of intellectual property. I'll be working out two things on this topic: 1) First, my seminary memoir is a study of intellectual property on the Internet; my study angle is the...

How to convert screen shot to .jpg?

Oh, and when you post an OS9 question, I recommend warning us first, so we don't answer with OSX solutions.

How to convert screen shot to .jpg?

Okay, you're on OS9, I thought you were on X. OS9 takes screenshots in PICT format, a Mac-specific, no-loss format. In fact, this format is useless and obtrusive, so we are going to convert it. In your Applications (or Utilities), you have a Quicktime folder, and in this folder, you have...

    Exposé shows hidden windows !

Same, this may be poor programming, but it has to do indeed with popups. This hidden window looks like a notoolbar template for a potential popup window.

    Question for hand-coders

Mr.K Yeah, I know, but I don't use the template system, I just use my own code. I don't either use those #thingees, I don't really need them. As for PHP, I like the moethod described here. In fact, either you're geniuses, either you're copying and pasting from an old ALA article about PHP...

off topic: Microsoft to buy google?

My French newspaper (Les Echos) is more precise on this news. Microsoft has made a PROPOSAL and Google has NOT refused - YET. BUT the case is NOT official, it's just an informal request from MS Corp. Moreover, MS is worried about Google getting on the stock exchange, but that's a more complex...

    Exposé shows hidden windows !

Not at all, arden, spyware is more than a hidden window. As mentioned above, it's a programming hack. The Moz documentation should soon tell us more about that, I guess.

I have Panther disk (17Gb) and Classic disk (2Gb or so). This works quite well, although I'm planning to abandon Classic if I can have Unreal Tournament running fast enough in Panther.

Suggestions! How can Apple better penetrate the PC Market?

"I would push for flashy ads using a celebrity spokes person demonstrating all the lates eye candy using the biggest display possible." Very bad idea from beginning to end, commercially speaking. 1) Apple has a tradition of sobriety and elegance, combined with relativie discrecy (is this...

Expose -- Death to tabbed browsing?

I love both tabs and Exposé. I use tabs intensively (more than 15 per window in general), and I use Exposé a bit. The function I use the most in Exposé is this wonderful 'show desktop' function, which lets me open and edit my principal files and folders at an incredible speed. I don't use the...

    CNET and fair judgement?

My big drawback is the OS9 problems that did not exist with Jag. I'll explain. Before, I used the SysPrefs to switch from OSX boot to OS9 boot. And it was fine. Now, it always crashes OS9 (dFSerr) and loses my screen settings (geometry gets badly screwed). I have to zap PRAM each time I...
