    Apple releases QuickTime 7.1.1

Downloading now, hope it fixes some stupid text (and other) bugs.

    Solid state HDs for Apple?

I agree, I think it'll be a long time before we see any kind of large capacity flash drives in computers that consumers will be able to afford.

    Safari errors :(

If the above doesn't work, you're best to do a full reset of Safari. Once it is open, select Reset Safari from under the Safari menu.

    MacBook Pro updated

Fryke is right about the two finger click thing. As for my source, I read it in someone's post somewhere — not the most reliable source

    The MacBook is out

I'm relatively happy with the new MacBook. Things I'm not happy with are the colour — I think black computers are absolutely ugly, and as Fryke said, the remote and power cords should've been made black to match. My other gripe is the RAM — 2 x 256MB DIMMs? Come on, that's about as...

    MacBook Pro updated

Good to see the speed bump I was hoping for. This glossy widescreen display is interesting — more reflective, but better outside. LCDs have always sucked outside, so I wonder exactly how much better these new ones are, and if the extra glare is worth it. Apparently now the 15" MBP has...

How hard would this be to achieve?

As can be seen above I've managed to get the WebKit working inside the window, and it resizes nicely with the window so that's good. Like I said before, I'm not sure how to make it automatically load a set URL by itself. I could give the text box a default value and hide it, but it won't do...

How hard would this be to achieve?

I've done something, but could someone tell me how to make a web box load a specified URL on its own automatically without an address bar?

How hard would this be to achieve?

I've done a little bit of programming here and there, but nothing too major. I'm looking at creating a (if possible) Universal app that does one simple thing — display a window which loads a set URL (which will have a Flash animation on it). How hard would this be to create, and what...

Why 'Sniff' Out People's IP Addresses?

People do a lot of strange things on the Internet. With this tool for example, some people could use it for good (maybe they need confirmation of who they're talking to), or bad (people could use it for hacking). I guess it just depends on who you are.

    simply frustrated

That's the problem with technology these days, it moves too fast. Sure, if history repeats itself then when I finally purchase a new Intel Mac one of these days a better one will be released months later. But that's just how it is, and if you live in the fear of 'what's coming out next' you'll...

Apple silences music labels over iTunes pricing

Very good to hear. I agree with Steve, the record companies are extremely hungry for money. The difference between Apple and record companies is that Apple think about the people before themselves. Keeping all songs at the same price is best if you ask me.

New Apple TV spot (pc virus)

I just watched them, and it's totally changed my perspective. I think they're funny and clever ads, and very truthful. I agree with fryke, they're just advertising Office to show the world that Macs can run it.

New Apple TV spot (pc virus)

I agree, Apple need to shut their mouths and stop bagging PC users for having viruses. If they do, pretty soon we'll all be suffering.

    iTunes Radio not working

By repair permissions, he means go to the Finder, press Apple + Shift + U to bring up the Utilities folder, then open Disk Utility and click Repair Permissions under one of the tabs with your startup disk highlighted. Once that's done if it's still crashing, go into your home directory (Apple +...

Apple patents new LCD screen design

I think I've heard of this technology. If it's the one I'm thinking of, then rather than having one cathode ray tube like a TV projecting an image onto the screen, it'll have one for every single pixel. Apparently it's a lot clearer and has faster refresh rates than LCD. If that's not it...

    installing flash 8 problem

How long do you let it 'search'? If you have any network drives unmounting them before opening the installer will speed up the process.
