after iTunes opens up click on the iPod in the bottom right of the iTunes main panel and then deselect auto sync iPod or something... Mine only syncs when it is connected and iTunes is already open.

But If you have a on the go playlist on your iPod when you sync it with iTunes, the on the go playlist is reversed into a playlist called on the go in iTunes.

ha journalism at it's best - he just took the celebrity playlists off the iTunes music store for that second article... He didn't even mention the celebrity playlist feature of the music store. Is that what journalists do?

Just make sure to keep the data in your home folder unencrypted and safe on a firewire drive at your house or office, I would never trust important information to any machine. Better safe then sorry.
