Munix hacked? Valid files for install of Leopard?

And just to show you what me and nixgeek mean, here's a screenshot of my Windows log. No, my system is functioning correctly and it's not hacked nor is it going to blow up at any point in time. You're viewing a log file that is used by system administrators and developers for tracing down...

Munix hacked? Valid files for install of Leopard?

Sorry to say this but that log file is a list of assertion failures (and they can be normal!). What were you running that generated those assertion failure messages? Before you start panicking, assertion are normal if you're running a debug build or a program that for one reason or another...

    OS market shares

Keep in mind that Apple manufactures both the OS and the hardware it runs on. 7.94% of the market is huge for a single company that provides both the software and hardware.

    Building a PC

I've got Vista Home Premium SP1. It's the 32 bit version but I'm thinking of giving the 64 bit version a whirl. It's all working great so far. In fact, I think I _like_ Vista. Probably the least problematic version of Windows I've ever used and UAC isn't all that bad.

I didn't watch much TV as a kid, though I did get to watch loads of Voltron :D.

    Building a PC

Thanks for the info. Like I said, I know what components I want. It's just a shame that the damn item details and reviews never ever mention whether you get cables, screws with what you buy. I know it's obvious to anyone who builds PCs, but I haven't built one in years. Gimme a break :D. In...

    Building a PC

Boo, hiss, boo, death to the infidel! Now that we got that over with, I'm thinking of building a cheap PC box to run Linux on. It's been about 10 years since I last built my own PC and I can't remember everything clearly. The problem I'm facing is this: I know the components I want to get. But...

Munix hacked? Valid files for install of Leopard?

They are exactly the same on my 2 Macs, and they are going to be exactly the same for any other Mac. Please read up and understand file permissions before being paranoid about this. That panel show that the file was last opened on the 21st of March 2008. So ... really. What's the problem?

    resume on mac

TextEdit supports the RTF format, so any resume template in the RTF format will work in it. That said, I've never liked TextEdit when it came to printed documents. Found it never really got documents to look the way I want. So it really depends on the type of job you're applying to. If you're...

    Snow Leopard

Many cars have a sports GT version, that is slimmed down and the excess baggage all removed. No carpets, no stereo, lighter seats, etc. You'd think that with less material being put into the car, it'd be cheaper... Same deal here with OS X. Performance optimization can frequently be a daunting...

    Oil crisis

You can thank your very aggressive environmental lobby for that. They have succeeded in lobbying for so many laws that make off shore oil exploration a very expensive venture for oil companies. Then thank your spineless politicians. Look at all your presidential candidates. Up until April...
