Did the reboot work? Just asking, what version of osx? 10.3.4 perhaps?

What os is the server? Win2k, 2003?. If it is try stopping and starting the Apple services first, go to run, type services.msc, browse down to apple services, stop them all, then restart them. then try to logon again. You could reboot the server, this has the same effect. Good luck

try and search for a file called normal.dot, if it's there, delete it and launch word again, this should "default" word to the original config. good luck Trooper

Just asking is the G5 a Twin CPU? I had an issue that a G5 had a bad cpu, Apple had to replace the Logic and CPU's!!!! The mac kept crashing at odd times, I ran the Hardware test and the CPU's Failed on thermo sync. try running the Hardware test on the install disc. Good luck

guys, It should be on your Restore CD/DVD, reboot hold down the option key and the hardware test should appear, run it. Please note that the apple test is "flawed" I've had macs that passed ( CPU ) and found to be faulty!!!!!

Hi revnkev I seen something like this before, it turned out to be the battery, it seems it had something to do with the battery managment. Try removing the battery first, reset the firmware then startup and install the OS 10.4.3. It's worth giving it a try, it costs nothing. good luck...

Your Mini Mac is a "intel" based chipset, from what I understand is that CS2 will not run on it. Adobe is building a CS3 to run on Intel macs. So for now, looks like you may have to stick with your old mac for CS2

Sounds as if the PRAM battery is on it's way out. Can you tell me if it's A "bronze" or a "clam" G3, please, please, please. when posting give us a the spec, it will help tracking down the issue more quickly.

Sounds like you have a bad hard drive, have you run the Apple hardware test? If not do so.

Has XP have SP2? if not then update XP. If you have try changing network cable to a crossover ( this is to by-pass the switch) then trying moving data then.

The "speed" up tip is a known problem on some networks. On some old switches with auto sense the Mac's nic cannot configer itself correctly from the switch. I've noticed this on some 3com and HP managed switches. I've solved some problems by updating the switch's firmware.
