haha it is slow. It's mainly the lack of RAM and a slow HD. thankfully I don't regularly use this machine. Anyways, I just got done installing it. And it is starting up. I will send you the pictures I take.

    Mac on its last leg.....ARGH!!

it will take a few minutes to install this cause it is an old powerbook G3 lombard (slow as heck) but i'm not installing any extra components such as applications and extra fonts, so it won't take as long.

it won't prompt you to migrate your data. But there is an option at about the second setup step where it is setting up your user name and stuff and it has an option to transfer your information from another mac. It is down towards the bottom of the screen I think.

New Mac Pro Old Final Cut Pro 4.5 needs AGP?

Sorry but you're not gonna be able to run Final Cut Pro 4.5 on a new intel mac pro. Rosetta technology will only work on programs that do not require G4 or G5 processor power. At least, that is what I read on apple's website when they first introduced the new intel macs and Rosetta. You may...

    Mac OS not booting!!!

Once again I don't think that it will come to buying a new hard drive. But if it does, since this is a macbook pro, I would assume that it is still under warranty by apple. If it is not, then, depending on how big a hard drive you want to put in it, the reasonable price range would be...

    Mac OS not booting!!!

There are two possibilities that I can think of as to what is wrong with your computer. Fortunately/Unfortunately I had this same problem with two computers. The worst case scenerio is that your hard drive is messed up and you may have to get a new one, as was the case with my dad's powerbook...

    Mac on its last leg.....ARGH!!

gees sorry nobody answered you for so long. If you buy an external Hard Drive, first of all make sure that it is a firewire drive. I would recommend you getting a Lacie drive that is big enough for you to hold all of your files plus some extra room to back up more stuff in the future. After...

Strange blue globe in menu bar annoyance

Yeah I think i know how to solve your problem. If you are running 10.4 Tiger then just install this widget and all you have to do to remove an item from the menu is command click on it and drag it off. here is the link http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/menubutler.html
