    Plastic front for Powermac

This has been a sore spot of mine for a long time too... but in the end I think I'm able to see the 'greater good' of the decision to not put two drives in the machine. What doesn't make sense to me is why Apple chose to add metal to the framing preventing another drive from being inserted in...

    Apple's Newton Just Won't Drop

all flip phones are clunky to me... Ironically the ones I thought were thin and sleek are the older models -- since discontinued. It seems that phones have gotten bigger and clunkier. Even the phone you pointed out Arden is clunky to me. The Sony Ericsson T616 is more my style... I'm...

    Go wireless or stay wired

I would buy a wireless keyboard / mouse, but I like using my two-button Logitech mouse over the Apple single-button. I find I'm a more productive clicker with that other option. I also like to use my center button for Expose. Also consider power... The keyboard uses AA batteries. So you'll...

Help Convince Client to go OS X Server

I do... but be advised -- despite it's independence, these numbers tend to be debatable. Speed, it seems, is relative. Pure computer calculation is important, but what's more important is an efficiently coded program. You could have the fastest computer in the world, but put a slow OS and slow...

Yeah, could we ask why you're looking for OS9 programmers?

is there anyway to speed up browsing a remote comp?

This has been a 'problem' since OSX was introduced... and, admittedly, it has gotten better, but why is it that when I'm using a third party program such as Photoshop, I can browse remote volumes faster then when I'm searching the same directories in the Finder? It doesn't make sense.

    Apple calculator?

Really? I need to read more about this... An Apple calculator? Hmmmm... perhaps they are looking at altering the technology in some way for something else. The calculator manufacture could be adapted to house a pda perhaps?

    Apple's Newton Just Won't Drop

I like the idea of Apple coming out with a cell phone... even if it wasn't a smart phone. My cell phone is a clunky flip phone. I had a nice Nokia 8260 grey phone. It fit nicely in my laptop bag... now I have a clunky LG VX6000 which I'm not happy with at all. I'm sure whatever Apple would...

    Apple's Newton Just Won't Drop

I was privileged enough to own two Newton devices in my lifetime. I sold one, then immediately regretted the idea, so I purchased one on eBay. I later lost that one to an ex-girlfriend (long story). :(

my homepage - thoughts? ideas? suggestions?

Like the use of iFrames on the first one... I forgot about those... containing a frame in a table structure. I agree about the meta tags... way too many! :) The Flash site is designed well. I kind of want to see that boarder on the left continue all the way down, seems cutoff now...

Help Convince Client to go OS X Server

Simply put the operating system and speed of machine are your best arguments for getting an XServe. The core of OSX is based in UNIX (as you know)... which means you have all the open source (and free) solutions, such as Apache, MySQL, PHP... which are easy to install and use. Out of the box...

    Beatles suing Apple

Okay, since I feel like I'm not really getting anywhere in this conversation, I promise I'll chime out after this... But I'm getting bothered by the misinformation... so I keep feeling compelled to correct it. I may have misspoken on trademark vs copyright law, but Apple Records is a...

    Beatles suing Apple

mi5moav, again you prove your ability to state misinformation... Apple Records is a british company NOT an American company. They can sue them because of a little thing called international copyright laws. The simple unavoidable fact is that Apple Records sued Apple Computer. Apple...

    Beatles suing Apple

mi5moav, Apple Records sold plenty of records... listening to one right now... I won't dispute the tax shelter aspect of the company, but it was more then just a clothing store... The Beatles started Apple Records in part to help struggling musicians. ELO had a hit, written by Paul...

    Beatles suing Apple

I think Apple Computer's argument might be that it's not Apple Computer selling music... rather it's "iTunes Music Store" selling the music.... but that's kind of thin ice to be skating on... I wonder what Apple Computer was thinking? You know this came up in a meeting at some point.

    Beatles suing Apple

Good points.. but when Apple computer came out Apple Records was still what most people thought of when the company Apple was referred to. Apple Records didn't do anything different then Apple Computer is doing now by protecting their rights against those companies they felt were 'misusing'...
