LCD display goes dark/power adapter flickering

At least on G3 iBooks, the LCD cable that that goes through the hinge would become worn and ground out at times causing the display to go dark. If you can look closely and navigate to the monitors control panel and change the resolution, and the display pops back, then that is probably your...

    Parallel port for PCI Macs

I do not see how it could be plug-and-play because Darwin does not seem to have any parallel port support. I have certainly looked. Virtual PC would probably work though. This is not true. Some of the USB to parallel adapters have registers exactly like a parallel port. I am currently...

    Wireless Broadband For Mac Desktop

Buying an AirPort Cone Signal for the Home?

There is- you can get a cellular modem and compatible cellular service. The problem is that wi-fi is such short range that a company would need base-stations practically everywhere, or broadcast at power much higher than the FCC allows. Instead, cellular will do what you need.

    Airport Not Working

Could either be a corrupted extension, a conflicting extension or program, or something wrong in your computer. If you can get back to the apple genius bar, you should be able to eliminate the possibility of a software conflict by booting your computer from one of their powerbooks in Firewire...

    attaching a Parallel Printer ?

I reccomend the Belkin usb/parallel adapter too. It works perfectly. Make sure you get the older one with a separate cable though. There is a belkin adapter that looks the same, but has an integrated cable, and does not work on macs. It is way cheaper and simpler than a ethernet/parallel...

    communicating with USB cash drawer

I don't think it would be that easy. Plug it in and see if there are any new entries in the /dev folder. Then you can pipe some input into the device file. However, it is more likely that Mac OS would not have any suitable drivers for it, so you would have to write a program.
