    Age Of Empires 3

Brought it a while ago now :) Very good it is too. Haven't had the aforementioned problem - however, I have found it doesn't like 54b wireless connections - game pauses every so often.

There is never a good time to buy a computer :)

So, in your experience, what went wrong in the Macs?

I have heard there have been quality control problems (a fair few mentioning it in the Mac section of ADSLGuide) - although most people tend to complain about the quality (or lack thereof) of repairs.

    Why

Because the overall price would be cheaper, making more choice availiable.

    Why

I still believe that Apple should allow other manufacturers to make Mac's again - whilst Apple wouldn't make such a direct profit, it would allow more people to experience a Mac. The other reason is the inability to upgrade an iMac - that in itself will hod people back - people dont want to...

    Leopard

So it is - perhaps its more of an enchancement.

    Leopard

Having just downloaded the ADC slideshow presentation - Leopard is looking pretty good - OpenGL apparently will be multi-threaded (which should increase game speed), and there are a whole load of new API's, a podcast program, and wiki stuff. Its looking good :)

    Age Of Empires 3

But, unlike the PC Version, no serial number is needed.

Apple to Possibly Charged for Boot Camp?

Sometimes, yes. Mind you Apple never said, at the initial release of Bootcamp, whether people would be charged for it or not.

Apple to Possibly Charged for Boot Camp?

I'll be upgrading to Leopard anyway. I can see a charge being made if extra things are added (driver updates, compatability with Vista (x32 & x64) etc), then it may be worth it. However, if you just get bug fixes then it will be Apple trying to get more money out of people for no real reason.

Hurry up and release Leopard already!

Possibly - however http://macdailynews.com/index.php/weblog/comments/12019/ say that there are problems left. Here too : http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0612leopard9a321gallery.html Possible, of course, all problems are just caused by the intergration of ZFS, especially if code for booting...

Why isn't apple back in the schools?

Its the same when all schools had Acorn machines (BBC micros or Archimidies) - because PC's were cheaper and "are used in business" everyone changed to PC's Its a shame, as RiscPC's are very nice (both have a similar desktop layout) and its very easy to program.

    Fps?

Doom 3 is okay-ish, some of the end of level baddies are badly thought out, and is always very dark. Quake 4 is also okay - with this one you'll need a strong stomach Dont know about Cold War (just heard its poor) or Commando.

    need to defrag?

But the problem may come back again - if they aren't marked as being bad. And if there are bad sectors its usually the start of something bad... I believe its only with large files.

Any thoughts on the Airport Extreme?

The problem with .11n wireless networks is that each program varies on how well it supports it - for example, I recently brought an N wireless system (for Age Of Empires 3) - works fine on that. However, with First To Fight, connections were lost, packets dropped etc etc. I'll be going for...
