It's hardly "spyware that sends data to Apple without our knowledge", is it? You can see the mini store being updated each time and people are acting like it's not possible to disable it.
Went to my local Apple store today (well, it's not really local but it's the nearest one :P) because a friend wanted to buy a PowerMac. I was hoping that they'd have some demo Intel iMacs there as well but the guy said that they won't get them for about a week or so. He said that the MacBooks...
I kept it on at first because I thought it might be useful but it takes so long to load data that I switched it off in the end. That, and it made the Library list ridiculously small.
I was watching the coverage on CNET, refreshing the page every 10 mins or so. Every time I did so, the stock ticker on their page had climbed even higher than before.
Ok, thanks.
I knew it would be slower but as the machine itself is 4x faster, it might be acceptable.

Edit: Ah no, wait. I've just seen the title ;)
I think he wants to drop a song file directly onto the iPod's song list but is forced to drop it into the Library and then sync the iPod with the Library.
What's the point in buying it and not opening it if you're desperate? You'll still end up not using it for the same amount of time (and it will be worse because you'll be forced to look at the box) and there's always a risk that the shop won't take it back.
The sad thing is that a lot of ignorant Windows users will think these features are actually revolutionary. Here's a frequent conversation I have with Windows users:
"OMG Macs suck!"
"Have you ever used a Mac?"
"No."
"Have you ever seen a Mac running?"
"No."
They'll probably think that Apple...
