Apple do it the best because their solution is so simple. To put an MP3 player into an MFD would complicate things.

It's because you bought the song for your use. If you copy it to your iPod, you are still using it. It's illegal if you copy it for someone else because that means that they don't need to purchase it as you did. It's therefore counted as stealing.

iPod? But yeah, CoreBook doesn't sound like a good name at all. I think the "Power" in Powerbook and PowerMac comes from the fact that they're powerful, not that they use PowerPC chips. If that was the case, as all Macs use PPC processors, wouldn't they all start with "Power"?

I didn't buy it for the video capabilities. I bought it for music but I wanted a large disk, so that ruled out the Shuffle and Nano.

I've heard of people hacking the iPod to store music on it without iTunes deleting it. I'm not sure about the legality of that though.

There's an option in iTunes to set a different media folder. I keep all of mine on an external disk. It's in the Advanced section of the Preferences dialog. It will then copy the data to the new location that you specify, if you selected the option that copies media automatically to your iTunes...

If you've got FCP, you can use Compressor to convert files which is easier and quicker.

It's not just the logo that was bad: I'm glad they got rid of that logo and slogan.
