I'm using OS X 10.4.
I've got a dedicated server (linux) that I host all of my sites on and I'd like to be able to mount them to do things like backing up local files so that I can have them accessible from anywhere. I tried just doing ftp://ftp.website.com but it never asks for...
I've had Tiger since the day it was released and I've yet to find a use for Smart Folders...in either Finder or Mail.
So, I'm hoping I can be inspired by some of you by hearing what you use them for.
Before I upgraded to Tiger, I used Abracode's MailTemplate to help me deal with responding to hundreds of emails that had the same answers. MailTemplate doesn't work with Tiger and I've yet to find a replacement.
Soooo, I'm looking for something that will let me respond or create emails using...
There are certain mail accounts that I want to stay constantly checking for new mail each minute while others only maybe once per day. Is it possible to set this up in Mail?
I use Firefox for 99% of all web usage but I've got one particular HTML file that I need to have open in Safari whenever I open it. It's a file that's saved on my machine that I need to open occasionally but since Firefox is set as my default browser, it uses it to open it. I've tried doing "Get...
I just got my E2 in today and everything seems to be working great except bluetooth syncing.
Whenever I try to sync, I receive the following error on the E2:
"Unable to initiate HotSync operation because the port is in use by another application."
This error appears after about a minute...
Make note...this particular item DOES NOT fit in PowerMac G5's. I got mine in today and it doesn't fit...also, one of the 5 ports is on the inside...which is useless to me.
So I'm at the point where I've got the funds to afford dual 20" cinema displays if I so choose. And I've been telling myself for the past few months that if I ever had enough money to do so...I would. But then I got out the tape measure last night and measured just how wide 40" (plus the edges...
I'm in the market for a new PDA and need some suggestions. The main thing it's got to have is bluetooth/isync capabilities. Also wanting to keep the price as low as possible. I'm not really looking for the whole cell phone/pda combo though if there was something out there that was good...
Just curious what other folks have in their menu bar.
I've got StinkyBrain icon, Adium icon, QS icon, You Control iTunes controls, Version Cue, AppleScript, Time, and spotlight.
So after 4 years of living in a dorm room and NEVER cleaning off dust on my various machines I've had over the years...I've got a ridiculous amount of dust both inside and outside of my computers. What sort of cleaning supplies are best for getting everything back to shiny and new.
Haha...sorry, that was funny. It's technology man...stuff occasionally doesn't work and for the people that returned Apple it was to much that wasn't working for whatever reason. They are more than entitled to return it if they choose...it's their money.
Please remind me again of how this...
I ended up calling AppleCare and the guy on the phone tried everything he knew how to fix my mail issue but I ended up troubleshooting the whole thing myself on the phone and fixed it. I had to pull out all my mail from my various folders in mail and drop then back into the main inbox and then...
It's beyond me why Safari doesn't have the option to set how long you want history kept...but either way...is there a way to specific how long you want Safari to keep history? I know on previous versions (I'm using 2.0) that you could download something to do it...but I haven't found anything...
I'm having a few issues with Tiger that people on various discussion boards don't seem to know how to fix...does Apple provide phone support for Tiger? I've got an AppleCare plan for my G5 if that matters.
I just found this one: http://www.welovemacs.com/ksi2580n.html
$30 for a 5 port...doesn't seem to bad. I haven't heard go or bad things about IOFLEX. Any ideas?
