Recover L3 cache from 16/64 horror
Offchip / onboard... would mean I can pry off the L3 chip(s) and install new ones, right? I haven't removed the heat sink yet, but if the cache really is fried I suppose I'd notice...- koos_v

Recover L3 cache from 16/64 horror
Hi, According to Mac Hardware Test L3 cache of Quicksilver 1ghz DP seems to fail in some way (Post 16/64) causing my G4 to hang before finishing boot process. My questions: - Does this occur on 1 of 2 processors or both? The test gives no clue as to which processor causes problems...- koos_v

Turns out my flash drive was in fact DOS formatted. Formatting to HFS did the trick, thank you so much!- koos_v

Hi all! I have an iMac 400 (slotloading) that I'm hoping to bring back to life installing OSX. Currently, OS 9.0 is installed. I have to update the firmware to 4.1.9 but to do so, first I need to upgrade to 9.1/9.2. I put the upgrade on my USB stick, copied onto the iMac desktop but it...- koos_v
