Have you tried opening it? The cable's must be tiny. try looking at the connection. maybe it has broken. If its the logic board. Use it as a cool little server :D.

I would personally use Photoshop. Record an action. While your there. do auto levels, contrast... and resize it. Then select a load of images, then batch it :P (if not what fulmar said :P)
