Recently I gave my Mom a clamshell Graphite iBook DV. It is running a fresh copy of 10.2.3.
It is hooked up to an older model Linksys 4 port wireless router, through wireline.
Intermittently it decides not to see the router and subsequently the internet. The IP address becomes self assigned...
And to think I spent over an hour with Apple support reseting this and that to "fix" the problem. I even talked to a specialist. Nobody knew! This delay makes watching and editing video and rowal pain in the a$$.
Thank You
Sorry I wasn't clearer.
The idea is to remove iSync knowledge from the iDisk's storage. Open the terminal and enter "sudo rm -rf " (remember the space) and drag the iDisk's "Sync" folder onto the terminal window. Hit enter. You will be asked to enter your password.
sudo lets you perform...
Hello,
iSync continuously gives us an error that another computer is a Syncin'. Any real sync attempts fail. We believe the cause was an iSync crash a couple weeks ago. We have unregistered and registered both computers. We have backed up and reset in every direction.
I sudo rm -rfed on...
I haven't seen that exact error but try
a) Install the new iSync
b) Tell iSync to backup the data
c) Connect to your iMac account
d) sudo rm -rf "[iMac Disk]/Library/Application Support/Sync"
e) rename ~/Library/Application Support/SyncService to something else
e) Attempt resync
I had the same iBook with the same problem. I purchased an external Firewire drive. Could not do Camera imports directly to the drive without crashes, but editing was fine.
Did you try puting the iMovie project on the Windows box?
The way iMovie wants to manage and process its files...
Drastic measures but...
You can reinstall the OS while keeping users and network settings. I did this once to attempt an audio problem fix. The users were untouched and only the system files were replaced.

The old clam-shell DV iBooks had a direct three signal analog output. Did Apple do away with that? With an Apple supplied cable, the headphone jack transmitted video as well. We used the iBook as a DVD player for a couple years.
Hello,
OK, that is what I figured. The entry was reentered by running the WMP installer. I left the app in the default install location. Viewing source only reveals the name and extension. ASFs load fine. AVI's will not load in QT or WMP but go to appropriate player.
How do I detect the...
Hello,
Does anybody know Apple's plans for an iMovie update? I use this wonderfully easy program all the time. Myself and certainly others can write a lovingly multi-volume dissertation describing all the bugs and UI quirks.
Hello,
How do I train either or both browsers to open Windows Media Player? The movies come in as text! I tried adding a helper entry into IE without luck.
Hello,
This is Jove's spouse. UNIX has hard links and soft links. Hard links are literally another file pointer to the same file. A soft link is a path specification. An alias is a dynamic file reference that uses HFSs folder ID's and etc to track a file.
They have different purposes...
You are both right. I haven't got stuff littered all over my comptuer. All my apps are in the Applications folder. They're just in subfolders. I do use the dock. In fact, I'm not sure why I put the apps in subfolders. I guess just because it's my computer and that's how I wanted them organized...
