the drive is formatted in System 9 as HFS+ (extended?) I have not a clue on the jumper positions because there is no marks on the drive and 4 different jumper positions. but as the drive is not markes i don't know which is which. i tried 1 by 1. the first two positions no change the...

the hard disk works fine with system 9.2.2 it spins up and all... the Jaguar Installer CD was used on this machine before without problems (but never installed in THIS particular drive) I downloaded all firmware updates for this computer... I can't undrestand it.... is there any...

but the problem is that the HD does not even spin up. it remains just sitting there, dead. In theory Jaguar takes 2GB +/- of disk space so that's not the problem. Is there an order of some sort I can give the disk to make it run? thanks!

well, the reason is basically that I don't have the money just yet to buy an external drive, and I need to transfer large files from a PC to my mac. this 2GB file size limit is rather apalling... I work with DV files. What alternative do I have? to make this transfer?

Will OS9 read and work well with a FAT32 Windows disk connected internally (IDE)? or externally? (firewire/usb) is it true that I can't make files larger than 2gb in FAT32? thanks everybody!

I have a Beige G3 Desktop and I bought a Sony CRX230 CDRW. Toast 5.2.3 burns fine but it does not let me do "Simulation Mode" burns. Besides, when I quit the program the computer freezes. Toast 5.1.1 did let me do Simulations but when quitting the same problem appeared. Any clues? thanks...

UPDATE: I installed the CDRW on its own IDE Cable as Master. I can now press the eject button on the toast screen, but when I try to quit the program it again freezes the computer

disc burner extension is disabled..... I will try and use the CDRW with macosx and see what happens i'll keep this updated thanks very much anyway
