I tried to download the latest version of Maya 2009 but my system mac osx version 10.4 won't allow to use this program. I am trying to eject this disc but it won't work it says that Maya 2009 is in use and try to quit applications before ejecting I have tried this but it won't work

My applications, emails, and system is responding too slow I have emptied my trash and deleted old applications but it is still too slow. I also can't delete the application " safe cat " that I downloaded from apple downloads message reads can't delete because it is locked how do I delete this...
