Does OSX have anything similar to hcitool? hcitool can be use for, among other things, detecting bluetooth devices in proximity. I'd love to code up a widget around something like that, if it exists.
Since Apple's market share is so small (at least in computing), they are forced to rely on repeat customers upgrading systems. It's a quite simple solution really if you want to keep the PowerPC: get a large enough group of people to boycott the new Intel-based Macs to drive sales down. You've...
I looked around and didn't see any invitation from Apple to report vulnerabilities, so for now I guess I'll post here and leave it to someone with a paid developer's account to tell them.

I'm somewhat unfamiliar with how OSX deals with memory. In most *nixes, when an application exits, the entire process image (including all allocated memory) are unlinked completely and returned back to the operating system. I've noticed OSX seems to act more like windows, however, and when you...

Does anyone know the "Proper" way to move over the commandline java to 1.5? The little java preferences tool only affects opening a java applet in a browser, but I need java 1.5 to be the default from the commandline. I tried repointing...
I fired up Quartz Debugger and saw that Quartz Extreme was enabled, but Quartz 2D extreme was disabled. Is there a reason for this? I'm running a 1.67Ghz Powerbook G4, and wasn't sure what enabling this will do for (or to) me.

A couple caveats, just wanted to see if others can confirm and/or have found new bugs.
1. The mac cursor now appears at the intro screen and remains in the center of the screen throughout the duration of gameplay. The only workaround I've found is to toggle between fullscreen and windowed...
