i have textoverlapping on safari 2.04 (macbook pro 15.4inch) when viewing website

i have 15.4 macbook pro with safari 2.04 i cant use certain websites bc of this problem... should i use another browser? anyone have a solution for this?

on opening this webpage, all the text on top are overlapped together. i tried decreasing the text size and the window maximizing but still rows of texts are overlapping. this also happened on my xanga site, where i tried to upload pictures and i could not see certain links bc the overlaps...

i downloaded the windows media player 9 and installed it. but still i cannot watch neither cnn.com nor yahoo news. it says windos media player not detected. how do i fix this problem? if this is a matter of setting media player as default player, how do i do this on a mac? thanks
