router doesn't even light up signifing signals from cable modem. and yes, my service provider is at&t broadband. as to it being able to emulate the old comp's MAC address, already tryed that.. still fails to recognize modem.

my linksys router fails to recognize that i've plugged my cable modem into the WAN port.. could this be due to the ISP having the MAC address cataloged from the computer it was previously plugged into?

does it involve any further setup.. or does the tower just recognize the lack of a base station and ask if you want it to act as one?
