    dvd to tv?

I've had a few days to think about. I completely disagree, symphonix. Nintendo and other video game consoles have made RF switches for years. They take over channel 3 or 4 when the console has the power on. Normal television channels pass through it unaffected when the power's off. Surely a...

    Floppy decaptiates filenames to 8.3

In the future only Macintosh disks will be used, if I have any say in it.:D However, there are say 60 files like this across two PC floppies. I figure, I could open them on a PC, compress them, and bring to the mac side, and decompress them. I suppose I could do that. But I suspect in the...

    Unreadable but important floppy

Really?! I was afraid of something like that. I was hesitant to even try First Aid's repair at all. So I may have messed up the file. Well at least it doesn't report any new errors. Hm, my requesting other software to fix this ain't the solution, it could make it worse..... What would a...

    dvd to tv?

I believe you'd have to buy an adaptor. One end plugs into the comp, the other would plug into modern televisions, ones that have S-VIDEO on the back, those three red-white-yellow holes (fancy name RCA) :( I'm sure I'm missing one...But not the standard "cable" outlet (fancy name coaxial...

No, it is not 800k. It is the standard just-over-a-megabyte size.

    Unreadable but important floppy

A friend has a file that's very important to him. It's on a floppy. We cannot read his floppy. Both Mac and Win say it can't be read. I believe it's a Mac disk. He is very sure there's a file on it. I chastised him and did explain that floppies are an unreliable medium for backing up. It is his...

    Floppy decaptiates filenames to 8.3

Files are being shortened to a the "DOS 8.3" format. The particular constraints of this computer are: Mac files on a PC disk on eMac OS 10.1.4 being read on an external drive SMARTDISK. The problem is the files appear decapted, for example in lists like !DOCTRIN.GOF !CATOFT.HEE etc...
