    I think the X key will make it boot from OS X. I am not 100% on that though! Otherwise just use the option key and then choose your HD and boot!

    Do you have root inabled? If not you can try to inable it but I am not sure if you can if you do not have admin rights. It is worth a try though!

    No new program will install unless you put in a newer date. You can go into the System preferences and just change the date, and everything should be fine!

    Can he move files on the normal HD on the server? That sounds like a permissions thing to me, he can see them but can;t move or edit them. As for finder quiting, I have no idea.

    OS X server on iBook... possible?

    From the documentation I have seen on OS X Server. In the Getting Started book they give you, it says it only works with Xsearve, Server G4 & G3, PowerMac G4 & G3, iMac and eMac. No iBook.

    Networking with Windows

    You do not need appletalk tuned on the PC. OS X works with all that without appletalk! Are you connecting thru an actual network or just a small home network or what?

    You may have to put your setting in your Internet Proxies! Under the Secure Proxies area. I had to use the Tunnel meathod to get thru. That is what I had to do. I am assuming you have a firewall.

    I am on a small network and I am trying to figure out how to get new users to authenticate their username on Active directory. Then I want them to change there network password. All the computers are OS X.2.3. Any ideas?

    Connect Mac OSX to Win XP (New Mac User)

    You will probably have to turn on windows file sharing and internet sharing under System Preferences, Sharing. That should be a start. I run a small network with both Mac and PC. All I ever connect to is a server, not another laptop.
