I have an external FW drive on my intel iMac, OSX 10.5 I was using Lightroom and accessing some images. The drive started making a kachunk, kachunk, kachunk sound. I eventualy restarted the system. Took a long time to mount on the desktop. It's still kachunking away as the file directory...
