Well part of the problem solved, ran Tech Tool Pro and it found a few things wrong and so now I can access email but it now drops out when receiving attachments but Apple mail works ok :(

Have triple checked settings and password, deleted reinstall etc etc still get the same message ?? :mad:

Mate, thanks for your ideas, had already run Disk Utilities no differences, also as per my post both Safari and Mail work ok I just prefer Entourage as a mail program, but it stopped connecting any further ideas appreciated :D :D

Had Entourage working ok for last few months and all of a sudden it stops and gives error "The selected device does not exist, pls check settings and try again" when I hit send receive button Apple Mail and Safari, no problem have deleted officce and reinstalled still no success any ideas...

I have set up Entourage to automatically place a signature on all my out going emails, problem is when I get a reply to the same email and then I send a response Entourage always includes another signature anyway to turn off signatures in reply mode....... ;)

Hi Guys I have just got my NEEEW iBook G4 1Ghz with 14" screen etc waited five yrs to upgrade from my old original iBookman man what a differnt best ! I to want to get rid of OS 9 so reading from the above is it safe to just trash the OS 9 sytem folder and OS 9 Apps folder repair permission...

Wow thats fairly scarey... But maybe I have not choice, my ibook is running but for how long ... I can back up most of my files to CD ROm but how do I backup all my emails (Apple mail and Entourage) and Address Book ? Is their any other way around this can i copy the receipts folder files...

Shit oh dear , I was cleaning up as need space and was told that its ok to delete this stuff I trashed all the pkg files in this folder ............. Damm know what should I do my mac's running but does not feel smooth......

Yes it was the pref folder from OS 9 and Classic was not running, when opened OS 9 folder and selected all and then delete I did a reboot but my mac just did not seem to run well I then took the prefs folder for OS 9 from the trash and returned it to the OS 9 folder and after rebooted it seemed...

I have just removed all OS9 apps and system folder except for prefs in this folder the current system OS10.3 had a shock when I trash ALL the files so I put prefs back and it seem to run better but when I now run permissions its says "no valid packages" and does not work any ideas...

Problem I get a message that its required by the system all my old apps have gone just the OS9 folder around 500mbs any ideas appreciated :(

I now run panther 10.3 and would like to completely trash OS 9 folder is this possible ?

Hi.. I have just upgraded to Nokia 6600 and 10.3 (plus latest isysnc and ical) ran permissions and could not sync as I could with 10.2.x however on pairing the 6600 again it was ok, but I still get error on cell, app closed along with strange code (App. closed ectcpadapter_00808E5C) as before...
