cannot copy on external HDs - cannot determine space
Dear Satcomer, thanks, good suggestion, but the problem has to do with my laptop, all the external drives are working fine on other machines - except this MacBook G4... from memory stick, to FAT-formatted LaCie. Cant copy anything from laptop's HD to external drives...- derarchitekt

Hi there, looked at similar post on external HD trouble but all were slightly different. Here's my problem: Started up my old MacBookG4, OS 10.5.6, all good except: I cannot copy anything onto an external volume. No problem with mounting, both, USB and FW connect - but my system cannot...- derarchitekt
