Got the answer from another source after a few tries. Needed to start in Safe Mode, reload entirely, then restart. All is now working.- asenharbc

iMac 21" 3.08 Ghz 8 GB RAM External LaCie Drive Had SnowLeopard latest incarnation. Have downloaded the Lion and it starts up fine. Most of the menu bar (WiFi, keyboard (using Fr. CDN), Time Machine, Date/Time gone. Cannot connect to the internet. States that the ethernet cable...- asenharbc
