Has anyone tried the SmartDisk Firewire drives on .mac?

I purchased an 80 gig model, and am very happy with it ... plan to use it for video work and PLANNED to use it for backups with Retrospect, but it seems Dantz does not support SmartDisk, which seems strange. Any input. ALSO, if this is the case, does anyone have any guidance for me about...

    1st-Generation iPods and software updates

that the iPod updates would not work on the 1st Gen units ... never fret over mere chips and plastic and metal. (I was angry about our Performa, but my Pismo and Quicksilver have more than made up for that freak of Apple ... ) Lord

    1st-Generation iPods and software updates

Hello all: I have two first-generation iPods, and both are wonderful machines, which are serving us well. My question: Is there anything about the units themselves that would render them unable to run on the updates Apple has been posting? There is now way that Jobs and Co. should expect buyers...

    A Pismo and Disk Warrior

Perhaps my last query in this thread: Is it worth initializing a HD? (And how does one do so? I have done it in the past, on an ancient Performa, but cannot seem to find an "initialize" command now.) ALso, can someone point me to a primer, or sources of info, concerning the merits of having...

Getting email and iPhoto files back into applications

I back up my Pismo HD to an external firewire drive BEFORE I reinstalled 10.2.8 - which, by the way, is working fine for me on my Pismo and my Quicksilver 933 - and am now wanting to import the mail and the iPhoto files to the current Pismo HD. I know this is likely an elementary question for...

    A Pismo and Disk Warrior

And to do so, the simple thing is to: Use the OS X Install disks and erase and then reformat, checking the "install OS 9 drivers" box? If so, and if I do not intend to use the Pismo for anything OS 9, does any recommend NOT having the Pismo HD as an OS X-only drive?

    A Pismo and Disk Warrior

Very good answers, and they happen to be correct. I did not install the drivers! That said, if I have Disk Warrior 3.0, would I need the OS 9 drivers? Lord Brock Pismo and Quicksilver

    A Pismo and Disk Warrior

Hello: I have a Pismo (500mhz), which I love, and which has never given me any problems. Several days ago I reformatted its 12GB hard drive, which had an OS 9 on it, into a purely Jaguar (10.2.8) drive, with no partitions, merely a single drive. Now, when I start up from my Disk Warrior CD...
