I got a same error: ALF ALERT: sockwall_cntl_releasecachedpath ctl_enqueuedata rts err 55 (under Mac OS X 10.5.8 PowerPC) After re-install Mac OS X 10.5.4 from Install DVD 10.5.4 update mode, the error of the problem could be resolved !
